I’m posting again! That’s two, count them, two posts today!
I’ve been spending most of my time at CFS preparing for the opening. I’m kind of at a standstill, as I’m waiting for the plans from the architect and for the landlord to tear down that damn wall. I’m about to take a sledgehammer to it myself.
I have been anxiously anticipating working out at CFS, but have been waiting for just the right time. Today was just that time. This morning for only the second time ever, I didn’t finish a metcon. I wanted to give it another attempt.
I unpacked the Clock Gone Bad and placed it on top of some Rogue boxes. I placed a mat on the floor, put 2, 25# plates on a 15# bar, and set out my brand spanking new jump rope with orange handles. Luke was my coach, and he spent most of the time curled up on the couch judging me. He thinks I’m awesome.
10-minute AMRAP
30 double unders
15 power snatches, 65#
The clock counted down from 10, and I competed 30 unbroken double unders. I felt elated. I was even more happy when I completed 30 unbroken double unders for the next 3 rounds as well. I completed the first round of power snatches in reps of 10 & 5, rounds 2 and 3 in reps of 5, and round 4 in reps of 5, 5, 3, & 2. I was going for reps of 5 but failed on the 14th attempt. Luke yelled, “Don’t forget to drop under the bar, Daddy!” Thanks for the reminder, Luke!
As time was winding down, I was getting tired. I completed the last 30 double unders in reps of 10 and managed to complete 3 power snatches before time ran out.
Needless to say, I was quite pleased.
Quite a few people have begun stopping by CFS and asking about the opening date, pricing – and if we’re going to offer Zumba.
