Tabata Something Else

For a slight change of pace, I completed the conditioning with the 8:30 and strength with the 9:45 athletes. Jeff, of course, did the opposite.

“Tabata Something Else”
Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 intervals are push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8 intervals are air squats. There is no rest between exercises.

I completed ring pull-ups, ring pushups, GHD sit-ups, and jumping air squats.

Ring pull-ups were the most difficult activity, and became exponentially more difficult throughout the workout. I completed 9, 8, 8, 6, 6, 5, 5, & 5 reps for a total of 52.

Ring pushups were slightly less challenging, and I completed 15, 15, 12, 10, 10, 10, 10, & 10 reps for a total of 92.

GHD sit-ups were excruciatingly difficult, and I completed 4 rounds of 9 and 4 rounds of 7 reps for a total of 64.

While I completed the most reps of jumping air squats, that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t very difficult to, well, just keep going. I completed 15, 15, 16, 16, 16, 16, 17, & 17 reps for a total of 128.

Grand total = 336
True Tabata score = 37

With the clock running, take up to 10 minutes to complete 30 power snatches

I began with 75# and completed last rep @ 100# and with a minute to spare.

For the first time ever, I forgot what time class started. In my mind I thought the second session began at 11 instead of 10:45. It wasn’t until 10:53 that anyone brought this to my attention. People. People! You had every right to remind me — and to insist upon burpee penalty reward.
