I completed the strength session with the 8:30 crew, and got to share the Speal bar with Jaclyn. How awesome is that?
Strength
“Death by pull-ups”
With a continuously running clock complete 1 pull-up in the 1st minute, 2 pull-ups in the 2nd minute, 3 pull-ups in the 3rd minute. and continue for as long as you are able to complete the required reps within the minute.
My goal was to complete up through round 15 with unbroken pull-ups, and I announced that goal at the outset. Accountability, yo. I achieved this goal and also made it through the round of 17 pull-ups. I possibly could’ve (and probably should’ve) completed 18 rounds, but I was feeling somewhat self conscious, as I was the only athlete who had made it beyond the round of 13.
That’s 169 pull-ups. It’s no wonder that I’m tired and a little sore. I only completed the first 3 pull-ups as butterfly, and the rest as kipping. Damn, girl, I have a nice ass an efficient kip.
As usual, there were large groups at both sessions, and a HUGE group at the Community WOD. It may have been our largest crowd yet, and there weren’t even enough Abmats to go around.
I completed my own metcon during the noon hour prior to leading a 2-hour accelerated Foundations.
14-min AMRAP
7 ring dips
7 bent over rows, 95#
7 slam balls, 30#
21 lateral bar hops
Today is the 7th and my birthday is the 14th. My goal was to complete all rounds of activities unbroken. While this may sound like an easy goal, keep in mind that I had already completed 169 pull-ups. I did achieve my goal.
I completed 12 rounds and 14 reps. Uhm, 12/14 is my birthday. Just in case you didn’t know.
