Bon Jovi!

‘Twas another great Barbell Club! I had Paleo pancakes for breakfast. Uhm, not nearly as filling as bacon and eggs and avocado. Just saying. I consumed a Best Bar Ever whilst coaching the 8:30 session.

My shoulders, particularly my left shoulder, continue to bother me. Dammit. I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to complete the workout, and was very happy when I was indeed able to do so. I didn’t, however, overdo it. I’m just that smart.

A1: Bench Press (10,8,8,6,4,2)
At James’ suggestion (and as was getting ready to insist), I completed close-grip bench press. I completed the following 135 (8 and not 10), 135 (8), 145 (6), 150 (4), 155 (2), & 170 (1). Couldn’t get 170 up for the second rep. Dammit.
A2: Romanian Dead-lift (RDL) (RDL 41×1)
I completed the first 2 sets @ 125 and the remaining at 135. RDL felt very good today.
B: Push Press (5,5,3,3,2,2,1)
I used a slighter more narrow grip and completed required reps at 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, & 140, almost 85% of 1RM. I’ll take it.
C: Metcon (Time)
10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Full Clean and Jerk (185 120)
Muscle up Chest to bar pull-ups + ring dips

James requested that we completed C&Js at 75% of 1RM; thus, 120# for yours truly. The clean isn’t an issue, but I was concerned with the jerk.
Uhm, I completed all 30 C&Js one at a time. Completing unbroken C2B pull-ups and ring dips was, well, easy. Unfortunately, this didn’t allow much rest time before completing more C&Js.
I failed the last rep of the round of 10 C&Js in that I just couldn’t lock it out. I thought, “Should I just do a power clean and the jerk? Do I really need to do another full squat clean? A full squat clean it is, then.”
The round of 4 C&Js was perhaps the toughest. I had to dig deep.
Time = 12:41
