Yup, it’s been two years since CrossFit Surmount officially opened for business, and what a wonderful two years it has been! Time sure does fly when you’re doing what you love.
I completed this workout last year and at the Grand Opening.
1: CFS Anniversary WOD, Part 1 (AMRAP – Reps)
5-min AMRAP
6-count burpees to 4″ target
Rest 1 minute before completing Part 2
For a change or pace and added challenge the 6th count of the burpee was to a 4″ target. This slowed me down somewhat. and I competed 66 reps, fewer than in the past. Jeff also completed 66. Wow!
And this happened. Sarah, my favorite Dodge, was stationed right beside me. We were neck and neck for the first 5 or so reps and I thought, “Good for Sarah! She’s trying to keep up with me!” That didn’t last very long.
2: CFS Anniversary WOD, Part 2 (AMRAP – Reps)
10-minute AMRAP
Hand release pushup & bodyweight deadlift ladder
I deadlifted 145# and completed through round 15 for a total of 240 reps. I completed all rounds of deadlifts unbroken but had to begin breaking up HRPUs into smaller sets by round 13. I was very glad Jeff was there for whilst completing round of 15 HRPUs I thought I was on round 14! He said, “One more.”
That’s 120 hand release pushups and deadlifts.
